Shuttergate Atelier

Our story

Shuttergate Atelier began as a small daylight loft on a quiet side street. We noticed that crews worked faster when the space felt composed: no visual noise, no unexpected hums, no cluttered corners. We decided to scale that feeling—one studio at a time.

Today our portfolio spans daylight lofts, blackout stages, and cyclorama rooms across a few carefully chosen neighborhoods. Each room is tuned for focus: neutral finishes, thin but durable fixtures, and layered acoustic treatment to keep direction crisp.

Mission & principles

Make focus effortless

We remove distractions through quiet design and predictable tools so talent and crew can get to work faster.

Specify honestly

Specs reflect real-world performance: usable amps, true ceiling height, and verified daylight orientation.

Design for longevity

We prioritize materials that age well and can be maintained or recycled responsibly.

How we build a studio

  1. Site analysis: light paths, sound map, freight, and power proximity.
  2. Envelope tuning: double-layer drywall, mineral wool, and sealed penetrations.
  3. Finish discipline: neutral paints, satin floors, and matte fixtures to minimize flare.
  4. Proof & iterate: we test with real productions and instrumented measurements.
